Statement Regarding Rex Manning Day 2021
REX MANNING DAY CANCELLED DUE TO PROVINCIAL ORDER
TORONTO – APRIL 8 – The provincial government of Ontario has issued a month-long stay-at-home-order, effective 12:01am today. After careful consideration, Shortstack Records has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Rex Manning Day, scheduled for April 8.
We continue to question our province’s role in history as the most locked down place in North America during the COVID-19 pandemic, but we place the safety of our customers, sellers and traders above all else. Ultimately, we believe that’s what Rex Manning himself would also want.
Shortstack Records will continue to sell vintage vinyl in top-tier condition at reasonable prices through our website and Discogs account. Curbside pick-up will be available on select days at our storefront on Dundas West.
We are disappointed that we are unable to celebrate Rex Manning Day with everyone who observes the yearly holiday. We look forward to next year’s event on April 8, 2022, provided that the additional 1,000,000 vaccines currently in Ontario freezers have been finally administered to the people of our overly patient province.
